If I died
you would finger paint
your menu choices
with my blood
kick my corpse
to fetch and carry
stretch my skin
into a tray
use my hair
to stuff your pillows
push shoes
on to my flaccid feet
and send me out to hunt
I am
gnawed through:
a severed cord
lying in
a pool of soured milk
Get your own dinner
I’ve written a lot of poems about the joy I feel around my children: this is the other side of the coin. A bad day…a very bad day….peace FatW
I think you know how I feel about this..it’s intoxicating…nothing wrong in getting in touch with your bad side Ace …nothing at all
Brilliant. I try to find a particular line that I really adore…but sadly I cannot choose one at all.
Aww thanks rambly…do you think it’s better now I have acted on panda’s criticisms?
You are welcome – I would have to go back and read the original, but I am a firm believer of trying new methods but retaining one’s own voice throughout, for as we know poetry/prose is so very subjective and what is disliked by one, or felt needs change may be loved by others. I’m off to bed-e-byes now (I want to stay up) but I’m weary, so I shall have a look tomorrow night and give you my ‘professional’ cough-cough opinion

I love your re-write of this… very good… I love it partially because I relate all too well… I think all mother’s have these days/moments… its just that only some of us are truly brave enough to admit it… big breaths Face, big breaths… *hug*
I kinda thought you might get it beautiful one…hugs back at ya x
I loves it – and not just because I had a tiny paw in it
This is the best parenting poem I’ve read – real, comic, horrific (hair pillows – so dark) and all this in a handful of words. Wonderful
Ta…your help was invaluable

I love this poem – you couldn’t have described parenthood better – and I also love your Panda post. You sound just like him!
Thank you lovely…it was quite liberating being panda for a day! :-=D
Searing. And brilliant poetry. I’m not a mum but I sure know my mum had days like this.
What a great way to vent!
Can’t remember how I found you, but I think you’re poetry is brilliant. Looking forward to more.

My pleasure

The Panda-link sent me. Oh God. Will you come over to my house and tell this to my family? I’m on my way out. Love it.
